I was walking down life’s highway a long time ago. One day I saw a sign that read `Heaven Grocery Store’.

As I got a little closer, the door came wide open, And when I came to myself, I was standing inside.

If tomorrow was the day I drew my last breath
And the sun that rose did not light my eyes…

Give me your help Lord,
To live this one day.
One knot to unravel;
One problem to weigh.

For many years I cried and thought, why did God abandon me
I have read my Bible faithfully and prayed on bended knee

I am writing this to You to request a transfer to a desk job. I herewith present my reasons:

I began my career as a private, because of the intensity of the battle You have quickly moved me up in the ranks.

The falling rain dissolves into mist
and the thunder begins to die,
as the sporadic lightning fades
an arch of color pours from the sky.

Dear Lord change not Thy will in my life,
Or trial and sorrows to be;
Renew my faith and make me strong,
Change not Thy will, change me.

I drank for joy and become wretched.
I drank to be sociable and become argumentative.

Be with me, God, when I’m happy
And all of my skies are blue;
Don’t let me take life for granted
But for ever be thankful to You.
