When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It’s a hug sent from Heaven
From a loved one way up high.
If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They’ve added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose.
If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It’s a hug sent from Heaven
From someone special up above.
If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird’s chirping song
It’s music sent from Heaven
To cheer you all day long.
If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It’s a hug sent from Heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace.
So keep the joy in your heart
If you’re lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from Heaven
A broken heart will mend.

My grandson, JJ died suddenly on January 27, 2008. I had raised him from day one. He was five years old. Not a day goes by when tears don’t fall, missing him so much. I read the poem “Hugs from Heaven”. It made the tears fall again – but in a happy way. This poem should be read or given to anyone who has lost a loved one –these kind of tears heal and give hope and joy, that someday we WILL meet at Heaven’s Gate all our loved ones who have gone before us. Rejoice!!!! – God is love. And when it is our turn to leave this earth – remember – you are going HOME to your Heavenly Father and your loved ones will be there to greet you.

This really has hit me deeply. My companion is fighting for his life in a battle with cancer. I get depressed a lot watching him struggle through his chemotherapy.
I’m printing this out so I can read it every day when I’m feeling hopeless! Am also sending this on to others that need this most welcomed up lift in thier lives.

this was a beautiful poem. it really touched my heart. sometimes i get so scared about life and whats next. this made me feel better and to joann i feel for you. i have 1 beautiful granddaughter and dont know what i would do if she left me.kids are a gift from heaven and only ours to borrow until god needs them at his side your grandson is at his side now. i’ll pray for you.

I would suggest you google “Hugs From Heaven”
I found many, many sites w/this poem attributed to other sources than “Peter”
sorry, bummed me out when I found others claiming to write this poem

THIS WAS SOO BEUTIFUL REGARDLESS WHO WROTE THIS!
WE LOST OUR ONLY SONTO MURDER WHO WAS NEVER FOUND
IT TOOK ME YEARS TO GIVE IT TO MY GOD
HE STILlED MY TEARS AND ANGER even tho this ha changed my life forever but GOD WIL HOLD MY HAND UTI I GO HOME AND ONCE MORE BE REUNITED
