Light yourself a candle
A story it will tell
Always old and never new
One we know very well.

Watch the flame waiver gently
Soaring high then drifting low
Its movement will vary
As the air begins to flow.

Reaching upward the flame
Depicts the highs in our life
Flickering low now and again
Tells of occasional strife.

A candle reminds us of yesterdays
The joy and peace we felt
Let memories live again
While watching the candle melt.

Sit down and light a candle
Reminisce while the flame is high
And thank God in heaven above
For His blessings of grace and love.
