The Dark is kind and cozy,
The Dark is soft and deep,
The Dark will pat my pillow
And love me as I sleep.

I had walked life’s way with an easy tread,
Had followed where comfort and pleasures led,
Until one day in a quiet place
I met the Master face to face.

I sat alone with my conscience
In a place where time had ceased,
And we talked of my former living
In the land where the years increased;
And I felt I should have to answer
The question it put to me,

Here am I, O Lord, yours to command,
And all I ask…please take my hand
And lead me through the wilderness,
And make my pain a little less!
The choice is yours, as it should be.
My gift is small…It’s only me!

A Texas cowboy lay down on a barroom floor,
Having drunk so much he could drink no more;
So he fell asleep with a troubled brain
To dream that he rode on a hell-bound train.

NOTE: The battle rages on every side and it may feel like you are
going through some deep dark waters. The very foundation you
are standing on is being shaken. Yet you are victorious and will
emerge triumphant,

For giving me another year to celebrate life
For giving me wonderful PH friends
For all their encouraging comments
For sharing me their thoughts.

One particular Sunday we had a visitor in our church. He arrived early, parked his car, and got out.
Another car pulled up near him, and the driver told him, “I always park there. You took my place!”

I refuse to be discouraged, To be sad, or to cry;
I refuse to be downhearted, and here’s the reason why:
I have a God who’s mighty, Who’s sovereign and supreme;

Light yourself a candle
A story it will tell
Always old and never new
One we know very well.
